I had never actually sat through an episode of CSI before (yeah, call me late to the party, whatever), but I came away pleased with what I watched. I am not normally big on drama shows but forensic sciences are interesting to me so that made it easier to stomach.
I did like the jittery, cut-from-one-place-to-another way in which the show is presented. It gives the viewer less opportunities to guess what will be next and who will do what. The camera almost always focused on one person when they were speaking, rather than putting multiple people in the frame. This to me made it seem like you were actually in the room turning your head back and forth while people talked on either side of you. It can give a sense to some that you are in the middle of what is happening, and makes you feel involved, rather than just a spectator.
Also the show itself has people who do seem very human. Everyone has their flaws, but it is overcoming those flaws which help the people on the show succeed in their task, which can also be taken as an outside lesson for people who realize that overcoming their shortcomings is necessary to succeed in life as well.
All in all, I was impressed with this show and may have to take a more serious look at it in the future.

Der Untergang
I thought this movie was an outstanding portrayal of the last few moments of the Nazi regime. It gives light to a viewpoint often never noticed by most of society. The acting was superb, and seeing it in German (I know this movie was made in Germany, but still) really gave it that realistic quality many movies aspire for.
The actor playing Hitler did an excellent job conveying the urgency and frustration one would assume that Hitler actually went through in that situation. And the props and scenes seemed so realistic you could actually almost forget you weren't really in that bunker in Berlin. It was an interesting portrayal of the Nazi officers as men dealing with immense problems, rather than monsters who are inhuman. Granted the actions of these men led to some of the worst atrocities the world has ever seen, but it also helps show that Hitler and his men were indeed of the same material as the rest of us.
Having been to Berlin and seeing much of this historical city in person, it is hard to imagine my view of this city being the same exact one that was decimated by bombs, artillery, and a crazed leader. It is one of the wonders of film to be able to show what was yesterday as if it were today, helping connect the past with the present.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Title

For my movie title i chose the film "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"
I chose this movie and its title because it is very unorthodox. Both the title sequence and the movie itself are very eclectic and original. The title starts out with sequences of anti-war protests during the Vietnam era and images of the war. They show this because it sets the time period of when the events were supposed to have happened, in the early 1970's in Las Vegas. It is the trip of a sportswriter and his lawyer to Las Vegas to cover a motor sport event, but quickly deviates to the deep trip into the psyche and inner thoughts of the two men who the movie is about. They do an insane amount of drugs and get into many perilous situations which not only have comedic value, but also try to convey the mind-expanding qualities and attributes of their introspective adventures. In short, it tries to put you into the mind of a drug user and lets you see what they see. The end of the title sequence is a black screen and then the movie name itself gets splattered onto the black background in blood. It is reminiscent of what someone on drugs might see or experience, so it gets you into the mood of the movie; which is not knowing what the hell to expect at any point.

Progress Report
This is a weekly progress report on my project.
This week all I have done is secured a camera for the upcoming game day versus Virginia Tech.
This is a necessary accomplishment for me to continue work on my project of capturing the emotions of the game day atmosphere.

The Death Penalty
When we were growing up, we were all told a simple truth about life that is:
Two wrongs don't make a right.
When someone kills another person, and can be sentenced to death. Is this a clear turnaround from this 'high moral' principle?

Aaron as a font...
If I were to compare myself to a font, it would be Trebuchet MS. This font is simple, upfront, and easy to read. I consider myself to be a fairly simple person, not too complex. I don't try to hide things from people either. I present myself plainly and simply for the world to see. I also think this font represents me because just something about it stands out to me. The way the letters are formed are very readable and pronounced. It has a very friendly feel to it, and also a very relaxed one, not too serious. I like to think of myself as being a playful, friendly, and relaxed person. Also this font does not seem too 'out there' or crazy. I feel I have a few kinks here and there, but am a very well-rounded person and certainly not worthy of being strapped into a straight-jacket, which some of the more 'creative' fonts might unintentionally say about the people who choose them.
The emotions of Clemson gameday as a semester project
Being a student at Clemson University, you quickly learn the importance of college football's impact. It not only affects the image of Clemson University as a whole to the nation, but also can have an enormous impact on the moods and lives of the student body.
I would like to do a photo-montage of the varying emotions a college football game can create here at Clemson. From the joyous pre-game tailgating and the buildup of excitement until the Tigers run down the hill, to the sheer ecstasy of a long touchdown run by James Davis. The inebriation of many of the fans (which might have a magnifying effect on their emotions) is another thing I would like to capture (though not to an extreme). Also, I would like to encompass the full scale of emotions, which may include the heartbreak on all of the fans faces after a close loss (hopefully we will not have many, if ANY of these photos).
With this visual representation of the many emotions college football and its results can bring, I hope to visually communicate just how important football is to the lives of everyone involved in the Clemson community.
